Silos are huge metal structures used to store farmed crops like grains, and that’s where the name Magnolia Market at the Silos came from. Now renovated to resemble the iconic style of HGTV’s Fixer Upper stars, the former 1800s agricultural hub still holds true to the history of Waco, Texas. Food trucks, a bakery featuring Joanna Gaines’ recipes, gardens, and of course, Magnolia Market has brought the old buildings back to life and are making this city a major tourist attraction. If you are a big fan of the show, this may be a really cool place to visit, so we’ve rounded up the best places to stay.
Hilton Waco
While rooms include everything you’d need for a memorable vacation, the biggest highlight is its amazing pool area and traditionally elegant grounds. Besides the pool, outside areas feature a fire pit and plenty of lush foliage while sitting right along a river. Breakfast and nighttime snacks are just a couple of bonuses while staying at the recently renovated location.

La Quinta Inn & Suites Waco Downtown Baylor
This isn’t your everyday La Quinta, upgrades galore justify the mid-200’s price tag, as does the location. Rooms are designed with bright colors and high-end bathrooms, while beds are ultra fluffy and comfy. The pool area sits outdoors, but under a swanky pavilion like the one at Hotel Indigo. Seriously, it’s something out of an independent boutique hotel. The gym is large and leans more on the side of being a health club, with ample space and equipment for a sufficient workout. Breakfast is served hot in a large area with plenty of options.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Waco
Managing to rate at nearly a solid 5 on TripAdvisor, this option is not only affordable but one of the nicest chain hotels in the Waco area. In addition to a pretty outdoor pool space, there’s a fire pit too. Full kitchens, free laundry and a gym make Home2 Suites a fantastic option for longer stays, and mornings are kicked off with a nice breakfast selection like hot sandwiches.

Hotel Indigo Waco-Baylor
Rooms are extra plush with fluffy beading, fabric headboards, and sleek walk-in showers. Hotel Indigo locations generally sit on the more luxurious side, and the one in Waco falls in line. On-site dining gets an A+, featuring fresh-inspired dishes like Fresca tacos, steak entrees, and nachos—the drinks are awesome too. The covered pool area is small but downright dreamy while still being exposed to the outside air. A Jacuzzi is nestled right next to the pool itself, and there’s an accenting fountain water feature.

Comfort Suites Waco North
Modern basic rooms meet all your needs, and the colorful patterns in the commons area are vibrantly pleasant. A small indoor pool features a waterfall wall feature and a jacuzzi, making for a nice place to spend extra time. The workout room is above sufficient and is a wonderful addition to an already “above expectations “ chain hotel. And you absolutely have to love the Texas-shaped waffles served for breakfast, alongside eggs, potatoes, and other morning staples.

Bed and Breakfast on White Rock Creek
Located in a lovely wooded area, this little bed and breakfast feels secluded while still being close to everything. Rooms are very traditional, with lots of floral patterns and true “inn” style. A calming front porch houses numerous rocking chairs and relaxing views. Breakfast offers quite a spread of homemade goodies, from egg dishes to breads, and it’s just the thing to get the day off on a good foot.

Magnolia House
So this is obviously the most sought-after place when visiting Magnolia Market, but it’s not an easy task snagging a stay in this lovely country chic home, which sleeps eight. Potential guests will need to book early—we’re talking a few months early. Keep in mind the house isn’t right in Waco—you’ll have a short drive to get to the market. Another option owned by the Gaines’ is the pristine Hillcrest Estate, which is in town.

Shotgun House
While hotels are going to be the more abundant source of accommodation, Airbnb does feature several homes that you might recognize if you are a fan of Fixer Upper. A beautiful shotgun house, which was renovated in the show, can be rented out and is an awesome way to spend your time in Waco. A list of other homes that fall in line with the same stunning aesthetic, as well as some gorgeous lofts, can be rented through the site as well. While more pricey, you will find renting a home or personalized loft to be a fitting way to lodge during the trip.
