While most visitors to the Baja California Peninsula, which separates the Pacific Ocean from the Gulf of California, extending from Mexicali in Baja California south to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, head to Los Cabos, there are some great resorts throughout the peninsula. In fact, if you’re looking for a more authentic cultural experienced mixed with a few luxuries, the resorts outside of Los Cabos should definitely be considered. Casa Tara offers a fabulous, secluded retreat along the shores of La Ventana Bay in the El Sargento/La Ventana area, about a 40-minute drive from La Paz. Here visitors enjoy stunning views of the bay and the Sea of Cortez, the Sierra Mountains and Isla Cerralvo, also referred to as Jacques Cousteau Island due to the many visits the famed oceanographer made here.
