Georgia’s Red Clay Resort is The Perfect End of Summer Getaway

A private, family-owned recreational facility in Cohutta, Red Clay Resort is just south of the Red Clay State Park. A perfect family-friendly activity, win brownie points with the kids and come here to enjoy a day swimming the refreshing, spring-fed pool, play a round of classic games at the arcade, or set up a picnic with all your favorite nibbles.

A favorite summertime destination for both kids and kids at heart, the Red Clay Resort has been open since the mid-70’s, continuously improving and expanding their property. You won’t find many pools with this clear of water in Georgia, where you can create your own slice of paradise away from the heat.

Nestled just south of the Tennessee and Georgia State line, this attraction is the perfect place to hold your next private event. Imagine having your birthday party or corporate event here, a peaceful location that welcomes visitors to remember when life was simple and indulge in its array of fun-filled water activities.

Originally a marshland produced by an underground spring, the first owners of the property manually cleared the area by hand. The history of the area is said to be used by Cherokee Indians as a water source, believing that the waters had a healing power. After a year of clearing the land, the beautiful underground spring was discovered, marking the beginning of its transformation into what it is today. The owner’s daughter now runs the Red Clay Resort, a story that epitomizes the attractions family-friendly atmosphere. Come here to spend the day with loved ones and friends, where you can grill burgers and relax under the shade. If you’re up for a competition, see who can make the biggest splash off the high dive.

You’ll have all you need on-site, from charcoal grills available for rent for only $12 a day to pool floats, life jackets, and tubes all under $5. If you’ve got your own gear, Red Clay Resort allows families to bring their own chairs, small floats, and picnic coolers to make their visit more comfortable. When you’ve done enough flips off the high dive and worked up an appetite, head to the Snack Shack for soft drinks, bottled water and a variety of chips and candies.

Perfect for families on a budget, why not beat the heat this summer in the cool, spring-fed waters at Red Clay Resort?
