Desert Shadows RV Resort
The Desert Shadows RV Resort is family owned and operated RV park located just off of I-17 in North Phoenix. It has 638 RV spaces in a tranquil and friendly environment. You’ll be close to malls, golf courses, restaurants, and other city services when you stay here. There are 75-foot-long pull-through spaces here and also wide back-in spaces. Your RV spot will have 50/30-amp water and sewer hookups too. Both short-term and long-term rental spots are available at the resort. There are many amenities to look forward to here, including an 18,000-square-foot clubhouse, covered BBQ areas, bocce and pickleball courts, potlucks, aerobics classes, arts and crafts events, and free coffee and tea all day.
Phoenix Metro RV Park
Another camping option is the Phoenix Metro RV Park, which is a 55+ park in Phoenix that caters to older adults. The park is located in northwest Phoenix and has palm, citrus, and shade trees. It’s along I-17 and only about five minutes from shopping and dining. There are a total of 310 RV sites here with full hookups. Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park has a campground where you can connect with nature and the great outdoors. It is just north of Phoenix in the community of Cave Creek. There is also a nature center at this park that is open throughout the year. You’ll be in a 2,922-acre park in the upper Sonoran Desert and enjoy hiking and equestrian trails. The park became part of the Maricopa County regional park system in 1963. Riverside Campground
Another campground in the Phoenix area is the Riverside Campground in the Tonto National Forest, which has great views of the Bartlett Dam and puts you right by the water. This campground area is less busy than many other recreation sites and only allows non-motorized boats. The camping fee is just $16 per night, which you pay for at the fee machine at the district office or the Bartlett Vista. It’s open year-round and has a 14-day stay limit. Carefree and Cave Creek, Arizona are the closest towns, but Phoenix isn’t too far away either. Water is not available at the campground but vault toilets are located onsite. There are 12 sites that are all available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
You’ll find 148 sites for RVs and tents at the Lake Pleasant Regional Park, which is in the Phoenix area as well. The developed sites have water and electricity, while there is a dump station on the property. Other features are picnic tables, covered ramadas, barbecue grills, and fire rings. There are actually three different campgrounds located at this park. The Desert Tortoise Campground has developed, semi-developed, and primitive sites. The Roadrunner Campground has all developed sites, and the Desert Tortoise Group Campground has accommodations for 10 or more camping units. Boat-in camping is available and has about 30 assigned spaces.
Scottsdale Trailer Corral
Located in nearby Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Trailer Corral is an RV park that only allows RVs and not tents. It is a low-key campground that often books out far in advance. You’ll find trees and grass here, as well as full hookups. Campers enjoy the location of this park near Old Town Scottdale. But be prepared for a compact park with back-in sites.
WestWorld's RV Park
WestWorld of Scottsdale is an event venue that has over 300,000 square feet of exhibition space and is on 386 acres of desert land at the base of the McDowell Mountains. It is in the Phoenix area and has an RV park as part of the venue. In fact, there are 398 permanent RV spaces in eight different lots around the WestWorld property.
